Each tower will rise to a height of 600 feet, with a 1,600-foot wide span between the piers to protect against a similar accident to the previous ship collision disaster. This is a cable-stayed bridge that will stand as a “beacon of perseverance,” according to Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller. The estimated project cost to completion is between $1.7 and $1.9 billion.
