The Best Prime Day Mattress Deal 2025: Nectar Classic Review

Within days the Nectar showed up at the doorstep of our house. This was eight years ago, and the mattress was compressed in a long plastic case that we dragged into the house. Nowadays, a bed-in-a-box is de rigueur, but at the time, we were incredibly impressed at how quickly it decompressed into the bed of our dreams. I know I am playing around with the dream pun, but when you’ve slept on crummy spring beds for years, the Nectar memory foam difference is not to be understated. Like love at first sight, as soon as we slept on this bed it just felt right, as if we were destined for its quilted topper and their signature layered system.

The Specs

The memory foam has a knack for letting your body melt into the bed, but retains its medium-firm touch that suits side sleepers like me and my husband. (Though back sleepers are not going to complain either.) This worked especially well when I was reading in bed because I never felt as if my bum was sinking into the mattress and putting unintended pressure on my lower back. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever had neck or back pain in the eight years I’ve had this bed.

In terms of motion isolation, that’s something I wanted in a bed since the day I saw that Tempur-Pedic commercial with a glass of wine that wouldn’t spill. Sleeping on the Nectar, I never felt bothered by my husband’s tossing or turning, or when my little kids snug into our bed in the middle of the night (and they are little tornadoes!).

The comfort was highlighted after I was away for a few days sleeping on random, not so comfy beds. Honestly, climbing into my Nectar was one of the most pleasurable things upon coming home after a vacation. It just feels like home.

When we moved across state lines, there was no question that we would bring the Nectar with us. The movers had no problem bringing it up. But when two years later I brought it downstairs because we were refinishing the bedroom floors, I had a mini panic attack because we couldn’t get it back up the stairs.
