Have we ever seen this much run contribution from just 3 players in a top-performing team?

Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler have combined for 1,439 of GT’s 1,962 runs this season — that’s a staggering 73.3% of their total team runs.

It got me thinking: has any other top-of-the-table team ever relied this heavily on just 3 batters?

GT are still competitive despite the middle and lower order barely firing. Usually in championship-caliber teams, you’d expect more depth or finishing power. But this feels like a top-heavy engine running on fumes — and still putting up wins.

Would love to know if there are similar historical cases (IPL or otherwise) where 2–3 players carried this much of the scoring load.
